“Justice has been done,” President Obama announced this evening, confirming to the American people that nearly 10 years after the brutal attacks of 9/11, that Osama Bin Laden has been killed.
Bin Laden was killed after gunfire broke out inside a home in Islamabad, Pakistan. The US obtained Bin Laden’s body and confirmed via DNA match-up that it was the leader of al Qaeda.
While details weren’t confirmed as to when Bin Laden was killed, President Obama did confirm that Pakistani officials were informed of the operation.
