Remember the 1991 Tear-Jearker My Girl? Starring along-side MacCauley Culkin was Anna Chlumsky.
After My Girl-type rolls vanished, Chlumsky married and moved to Brooklyn. Since then she’s a few small movie rolls, but she’s soon to be starring along side James Gandolfini in the BBC movie adaptation of In the Loop.
The Loop marks Chlumsky’s return to the spotlight in a major feature. She was working as a fact checker for restaurant guide Zagat and editing at HarperCollins imprint Eos when she decided she wanted to get back into acting. She credits the decision to an encounter with singer Roberta Flack at a nail salon.
”She told me I should stay in the business,” Chlumsky told Hollywood Reporter. ”So did a psychic I met on the street.” After taking part in some off-Broadway plays and a few small films, Chlumsky, who still resides in Brooklyn with her husband, made appearances on 30 Rock and Law & Order, and then signed onto star in the CW comedy pilot Eight Days a Week last year before landing the female lead in The Loop. My Girl was a great movie.. Anna was great in the movie.. Before, we hoped to see her in some more movies.. Although it had been years, we still expect the same and now our hopes have been realized.. Good Luck with your come back pretty Ms. Anna..!!
There is a new KFC commercial out where there is a woman who is the cook at KFC. I SWEAR that is Anna. The way she talks, the eyes, and the mouth. That is her! I have seen My Girl like 1,000 times. I know her voice and accent. Am I right?
