British kids 8 years and older will be given the chance to be the star of Camp Rock, which is based on the hit Disney franchise featuring the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato. All kids interested are asked to submit video footage of themselves singing one of two songs, “This is Me” or “We Rock”, and then 8 finalists will be picked to take part in this reality-style show.
The eight performers will be sent to a music ‘boot camp’ and receive vocal training from Zoe Tyler as well as dance classes. Tyler, who worked as a vocal coach on Any Dream Will Do, said ” For me I think it will be thrilling to find an eight-year-old or nine-year-old who can sing rock, rap or pop because I’m not used to hearing that. This country does need its own version of Hannah Montana so maybe this show will bring it to the fore. It’s about time.”
