The movie Twilight drew fans to the theaters in droves and the folks involved are scurrying to get back to work on the next movie in line: New Moon.
Here’s the details we know so far:
- Chris Weitz (American Pie, About A Boy, Golden Compass) will take over for director Catherine Hardwicke but the creator of the series, Stephanie Meyers, has taken to her blog about worries expressed by fans.

There’s been a lot of worry and speculation on the boards lately, and I want to let you know what’s going on.
First of all, like you, I’m sad that Catherine is not continuing on with us for New Moon. I’m going to miss her, not just as a brilliant director, but also as a friend. She has such a distinct, authentic voice that did amazing things for Twilight. I’m looking forward to every movie she does in the future.
And she didn’t leave us empty handed. We still get the benefits of her amazing casting and the beautiful visual world she created. This foundation puts us in a good place for New Moon.
Weitz also wrote his own letter to fans expressing that he will do his best to do the second book justice to keep the Twilight fever alive.
I will devote myself to making the very best and most faithful version of New Moon that can be brought to the screen, Weitz said.
- The release date is set for November 20, 2009. [It will be up against the Robert Downey Jr. movie Sherlock Holmes and a Three Stooges film written and directed by the Farrelly brothers.
- Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson return as Bella Swan and Edward Cullen, each pulling in a reported $12 million.

The guy that they want to replace him with looks to old, and looks nothing like the Jacob I imaged. Taylor needs to STAY Jacob!:D

I think they kind of have no choice but to change jacob because in the book it describes him as looking much older than his age, and this is just my opinion i dunt think taylor can pull it off(btw loved him in twilight, he was one of the better actors)…..

I’m so glad Taylor got his part as Jacob Black! He is working so hard to prepare for the movie. I also agree with the idea of Edward wgispering in Bella’s ear when she hears his voice… or if they really wanna put more Edward in there show what he is doing when he leaves Bella, and show how unhappy he is that he had to leave her.

I agree I love the book rather than the movie Twilight. You should also read Midnight Sun you’ll really love Edward. I cant wait to see New Moon I heard they’ll make New Moon and Eclipse at the same time. Does that mean that they’re compressing it into one? If that’s the case they should not delete the important events like the vote, marriage proposal and the camping. I LOVE THE 4 BOOKS! I finished it last December but I still read the chapters that I like most.
The two movies will be released at separate times. They are just filming them back to back

I personally say i would love for them to make all the series into a movie.But i think they should not wait 3 years to compelet it since the cast will be getting older. i think they should make new moon and take 2 weeks off then start with eclipse and do the same for breaking dawn.Becuz i heard they would probably change the cast for breaking dawn i reaallllyyy dont want that too happen since this cast works so good with each other. an im pleased to hear dakota fannign will be playing jane in new moon she is a great actress.

Does anyone have a copy of Midnight Sun that I could read? It looks like Meyers isn’t going to release the book. She seems upset that someone let it link to the web. I hope she’ll change her mind at some point, because I’m addicted to the whole saga. If nothing else there is plenty more that could be written about Bella & Edward from where the last book left off. Like book 4 said the Voultire could come back for revenge once they get done licking there wounds.

im tired to hear all these twilight readers.. The book is not the movie and the movie is not the book. Just an adaptation of the book. Therefore if they want to change somethin they have the right to do it. And i think they have to change some boring scenes as long as they make a GOOD movie for everyone and not just for satisfying the twilight readers. Hey everyone I absolutely love the Twilight Saga, and can’t wait to watch the movies, but I am realistic and realise that the books are always going to have more details in them. I watched the Movie before reading the books & I think I did this the right way around, I can’t get enough of the movie but am happy to read the books over & over. This is a first for me as I am usually a movie fan only, I love the cast and agree they work really well together, I am looking forward to New Moon being released in November and I am really happy about Eclipse being released June 2010, hopefully that will mean Breaking Dawn will be released toward the end of 2010. This will be amazing, I already have my Twilght Blu Ray on pre order, can’t wait. I would also recommend You Tube if anybody needs a Twilight kick as they seem to have clips of everything to do with the Saga. It’s awesome xx

Hello fellow Twi-hards!! I can’t wait for New Moon. I’m also very excited about Eclipse coming out only 7 months later. I love all of these characters, and think the actors did a great job portraying them. Sooooo excited to see Taylor returning!! That being said, I have never felt about anything the way I feel about Bella and Edward and their story. I have read these books 4 times. My husband is ready to hide them on me, but I can’t bear to be away from this story. I know how crazy it sounds, but I need to keep reading just so I can continue to feel like I’m part of thier world. I dream that the phone would ring with a small part for me as an extra. I would even consider sweeping their trailers out after a day of filming. LOLOLOL. A girl can dream can’t she??

dude i think i am the bigest twilight fan out there. i read twilight when i was in 7th grade or when it first came out and i havent stoped talking about since. im in 10 grade now. anywho i love the movie even though it wasnt like the book in alot of ways it was really good.i went to see it the day it came out and i got the movie the day it came out. ooo ya i must say i liked some of the sences they took out but oo well. i hope they use all the same people in the movie like rob,kristen, and taylor. luv them. well cant wait for new moon

Please dont do what they did with Twilight!!!!! They changed pretty much EVERYTHING!!!!!! Dont be afraid to make a, i dont know, maybe 6 hour movie!!!!! Use the book as a script, thats a brilliant idea!!!! But dont take out ANY of the characters either! Please you already started out with them, and their good for their parts!! Every time a sega does that it ends up really sucking in the end because you were sooo use to the first characters!
Very new to the Twilight Saga, actually since the dvd was released, fell in love with it!! Have read all the books with a week!! The movie is really good but the books have way more information in the and I hope the directors leave as much as they can in it. You know the Harry Potter movies were about 3 hours and everyone loved them!!

I loved the books and was so disappointed in the Twilight movie. I agree that you can fit all the details into the movie but at least get the details that you do put in correct! I am hoping the new director for New Moon gets more out of the actors. They are OK for the parts (who could really ever live up to the description of Edward!) but I don’t think they performed as well as they could have. I also don’t like the way the book and movie did not match. I don’t mean that we couldn’t have see some of Edward’s perspective (which we didn’t) but don’t say it was the budget that kept it from matching the book. For anyone claiming the budget was the problem with the first movie, let’s take a closer look. How much more expensive would it have been to have Jacob say “vampire” on the beach? It would then have worked to talk to Edward about being a vampire on the way home from Port Angeles. The addition of vampire murders was useless and should not have been there (saving money!) Then, instead of the scene behind the school, could have been the meadow scene. The trip to meet the family could have included more about the family history and saved money on the flying around treetops. One more pet peeve, what man has a white chaise in his room instead of the black leather sofa! Very bad choices * not because of the budget!
Ok from what I hear they are bringing New Moon out Nov. 20 2009, Eclipse out in June 2010 and Breaking down out in 2011. I love the books and the movie, books more just because there was way more detail and some parts that I thought should have been in the movie. They are keeping Taylor as Jacob, and as far as I can tell the entire cast from the first will be in New Moon. Entertainment Tonight did a behind the scenes on it (etonline.com). They said that Bella will actually see edward instead of just hearing his voice so Fanpire you got your wish=) I can’t wait till it comes out.

I love all 4 books they are so amazing i usally dont read much but after the twilight series came out i read none stop even after i was done with the books i still went back and read them over and over again. I hope Taylor Stays Jacob i would be really sad if he didnt when ever i think about Jacob i picture Taylor he is perfect for the part. Hopefully the next few movies will be able to include a lot more scripts from the books as Twilight missed some of them..Also some were changed… If Taylor Lautner gets to stay in the next 3 sequels then he seriously needs to buffer up since I imagined Jacob to be huge in his changes…

no .. they already confirmed that they are not going to replace Taylor Lautner .. it’s because many of his fans are getting angry and they’re complaining regarding on the news that he is going to be replace so .. they decided that Taylor will remain as Jacob … and that’s the reason why taylor needs to work on his muscles because in the book jacob should be muscular and big as a wolf .. so .. i think that clears everything …

saw new moon today, loved it, totally want to see it again, team edward all the wayy! thought the new director done a veryy veryy good job at keeping up to the standards of catherine hardwicke but still very good, i read the book before hand this time and could see they took out some bits but still i thought it was very good and tbh even if they do take parts out of the film, does it really change owt? really like your still getting the story across, tbh i dont see why people make a big huff and puff over them taking some parts out. because tbh they might try and fit them in some other way without missing that part, if you get me.
anyways i loved the film, might just have to see it again but love it and robert/edward, very fit.
