Why He’s on the List:
After the amazing run Michael Phelps had at the 2004 Summer Olympics, many people thought he couldn’t beat his own stellar performance! But Michael set out to do just that! At the 2008 Summer Olympics, Michael walked away with 8 Gold Medals, making him the most decorated athlete of the Olympic Games! Michael plans to compete again in London in 2012!

Why They’re on the List:
The Jonas Brothers had a busy 2008! Not only did they release their latest album, A Little Bit Longer, they were also featured on Rolling Stone, released a book, starred in ‘Camp Rock’, co-wrote Demi Lovato’s album, and signed a deal to star in their own Disney TV show, J.O.N.A.S! Why She’s on the List:
Taylor Swift has had a spectacular 2008! Her sophomore album, Fearless, debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart. 11 out of Taylor’s 13 new songs have also spent time on the Hot 100 list! Sales of 592,304 put Taylor as the Number 1 selling female artist in ANY genre in 2008! She was also honored when the 2008 Summer Olympics used her song, ‘Change’, as part of the Olympic soundtrack!

5. Miley Cyrus

Age: 16
Why She’s on the List:
Miley Cyrus has continued to build her massive success throughout 2008! Miley released her second-studio album, entitled Breakout. She also shot the upcoming Hannah Montana movie as well as new season of the Disney show! Miley was honored with a Golden Globe Nomination for her song ‘I thought I Lost You’ which was featured in her hit animated film, Bolt. You can catch the Golden Globes on January 11th!

4. LeBron James

Age: 23
Why He’s on the List:
Not only did LeBron James lead his home team, The Cleveland Cavaliers, to Eastern Conference Finals, he also led the United States Basketball team to a well-desereved Gold Medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics! Look out for LeBron’s possible one-hour special on ABC, which he is set to produce, with the help of Ice Cube.

Why He’s on the List:
The popularity of Disney star Zac Efron only grew during 2008 with the release of High School Musical 3: Senior Year! Zac also won an MTV Award for Breakout Performance! Congrats Zac! We can’t wait to see what you have in store for us in 2009!

Age: 22
Why He’s on the List:
No one rose to International stardom faster in 2008 than everyone’s favorite vampire, Robert Pattinson. Not only did Rob become the newest teen heartthrob, he also showed off his musical talents by performing his song, ‘Never Think’, on the ‘Twilight’ soundtrack. Rob is expected to have a new film, entitled ‘Little Ashes’ coming out in 2009, as well as shooting and releasing the Twilight sequel, ‘New Moon’.
