Strutting her 16 year-old stuff on the red carpet Thursday night for H&M’s “Commes des Garcons” collection preview in New York, Selena Gomez told reporters of her upcoming plans to celebrate Halloween, as well as revealing her fondness for fellow Disney actress Miley Cyrus and soft-peddling around questions regarding her romance with Cyrus’ ex, tween rock heart-throb Nick Jonas.
Asked by Ok! Magazine if she intends to dress up and go trick-or-treating this year, Gomez responded, “Yes, absolutely!”
“Me and my best friend Demi Lovato have a tradition that we’ve been doing ever since I can remember,” said Gomez. “We actually wear masks, so it’s so funny because people don’t even know we’re walking by them.”
Gomez went on suggest she wouldn’t be wearing a mask this year however, as she intends to dress up as June Carter Cash.
Asked if she’ll be accompanied by a Johnny Cash, Gomez replied, “No, I wish I had a Johnny Cash! I really do, but I don’t have one.”
Really?
Picking up where Ok! left off on the red carpet, Us Weekly asked Gomez about her current status with 15 year-old Miley Cyrus (who Gomez has denied having friction with) as well as her current status with Cyrus’ (ostensibly platonic) ex-boyfriend Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers.
“I honestly think that [Miley’s] adorable,” said Gomez. “I think she’s really sweet, and I think that [Justin’s] cute, too. I wish them all the luck.”
Having denied reports of a romance between herself and Nick Jonas this summer before revealing to TV Guide earlier this month the two were “getting to know each other,” Gomez would only say of Jonas “[He] is passionate about what he wants and he’s very sweet. He has a great heart.”
Indeed, it is difficult to imagine Johnny Cash wearing a purity ring.
