Sorry girls….Disney is denying the online report that Twilight star Robert Pattinson has been cast to play Johnny Depp’s little brother in the upcoming fourth installment of the popular Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise.
“It is not true,” says the spokesperson.
Disappointing or not? Hard to imagine that he would have time to film the next ‘Twilight’ as well as ‘Pirates’

I dont want Rob attached to rubbish like POC. He’s awesome in Little Ashes as Salvador Dali and doesnt need rubbish like this shoddy franchise.
Disney will regret that decision. Pattinson woud have refreshed a jaded franchise.
I woudld have loved to have seen these two actors together. They have similar vibes and I could see it working well. Rather silly of Disney to dismiss it out of hand.

I would rather Rob focused on a new franchise rather than left overs like POC. The last POC film was atrocious. Rob should balance big blockbusters with indi films liek Parts per Billion.
I would far rather Rob Pattinson played Jeff Buckley in a bio pic. Something worthy of his talent.

A great idea dashed. Disney are very very foolish. However Rob suits work like Money by Martin Amiss. Playing complex characters and not sidekicks to actors who have sold out.
Pirates isnt any where near to filming. It seems very silly of Disney to dash this so easily. Its a perfect casting – whats not to like about it. Stupid decision.

when I heard the news that Rob was going to play a part Sparrow’s little brother, I was completely blown away and excited. Rather stupid of disney to not go through with it. They know Rob’s and Depp’s fans will be very loyal to each of them, no matter how bad it will be. I think that Rob and Depp would totally refresh the whole POTC idea. It would be really interesting to see what they were thinking of Rob doing. To be either comedic or the total opposite of Jack Sparrow? Damn, I was so looking forward to it! Being REALLY BIG FANS of both, I would die to see the movie. But, oh well….

All Disney could have meant is he was offered the role yet. Maybe he will be in potc4. After all this buzz who knows maybe they will cast him in the movie! be a very smart decision specially riding his sucess with twilight saga, would probably generate alot of interest, also bring in a bunch of new fans to the potc fan base.

i’m actually quite glad that disney said no. i love both movies and would hate to be watching POC and go “oh look its edward.” honestly i think it would ruin one of the movies or worse, both.

I heard that it was not Robert Pattinson that was going to be in it, this is the first I have heard of it. But I heard originally that it was going to be Russel Brand who was going to be in it, I imagine some relative of Jack Sparrow as him and the way johnny plays jack are very similar.

thank god, i mean yeah Robert was good as a vampire, but as a pirate? no, and i just dont think Johnny depp <3 and Robert would mix well together. i think they have very different styles.
