Miley Cyrus took to the internet on Wednesday to “explain” the recent photo that has surfaced.
Miley never really apologizes, saying that it was a picture taken out of context, and they were just making goofy faces!
Check out what Miley had to say:
“I’ve also been told there are some people upset about some pictures taken of me with friends making goofy faces! Well, I’m sorry if those people looked at those pics and took them wrong and out of context!” Miley blogged on Wednesday.
“In NO way was I making fun of any ethnicity! I was simply making a goofy face. When did that become newsworthy? It seems someone is trying to make something out of nothing to me. If that would of been anyone else, it would of been overlooked! I definitely feel like the press is trying to make me out as the new ‘BAD GIRL’!”
“I feel like now that Britney is back on top of her game again, they need someone to pick on! Lucky me! haha Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know what is on my heart. You guys know me and have been by my side every step of the way! You guys know my heart and know the most important things to me are my friends, family, fans, and GOD! In NO WAY do I want to disappoint any of you! But, when I have made mistakes in the past, I feel like I’ve owned up to them and apologized.”

this is a very crazy! people always use racism for something… I am Asian and i dont see anything offensive about the picture. we always do this in the camera trying to be goofy. miley not intend to do this just to mock asian people they are just being teenager and having fun . Just leave her alone.. esp. grown up people

i understand if it was a bunch of friends making diffrent funny faces but don’t you think it’s a coincidence that all of the white people are stretching their eyes in an asian-like manner and the asian guy is the only one with his eyes super big? that’s not exactly JUST making goofy faces. and even if she didn’t mean it like that, did it ever occur to her that “hey, maybe if the press gets a hold of this picture it might clearly offend those of asian ethnicity!” and she can’t use any excuse like “this picture was not for the public” bullshit. she’s a big star, of course it’s going to get leaked sooner or later

If Miley was “just having fun,” then why does pulling the corner of her eyes in an exaggerated way counts as that now. It shouldn’t and it sure doesn’t! If she thinks that’s okay, then I’m sure she would fit right in with past actors and singers that painted their faces “pitch black” to exaggerate black people’s dark skin tone while performing songs. “we always do this in the camera trying to be goofy.” –Marie, I’m sure painting your face black and calling yourself a coon is just being goofy. Don’t think that they did that hundreds of years ago: Bugs Bunny did it in cartoons, so did Judy Garland (Wizard of Oz), and Bing Crosby (you hear his songs every Christmas), to name a few. Yeah, sure, that was back then. That’s what people will be saying about this crap huh? With all the history of racism in this country, you would think that we moved along. Until people stop taking racism for granted, we will.
And… marie, you don’t speak for or represent Asians. Don’t try to mislead people into believing that you speak for Asians by saying you’re Asian.
