Kristen Stewart didn’t want to do Twilight

by chelsea on December 12, 2008

in Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson

Into the Wild star Kristen Stewart reveals that at first she had zero interest in participating in the mega teen hit, Twilight ! Kristen recently told Australia’s Sunday Mail: ‘The script was forced on me. It was in a stack of studio movies of ‘Smart options for Kristen’. I thought ‘This is crap, you’re going to present a completely ideological idea of love to 11-year-olds and that’s so not right’. You’re setting them up for total disappointment’.

But reading the entire script set her at ease.

‘I’m not OK with the idea of ideological men where they’re perfect and you’re not, but that’s not what we have here. Our character is so tortured and not OK.

Kristen also commented on Robert Pattinson’s dedicated fans!

‘Some are rabid and just look at me with disdain. I remember we did a signing at a bookstore and, after being there a couple of hours, we had to leave, but there was still this wall of people waiting to get Rob’s autograph. I saw people looking at Rob and the prospect of not getting to meet him after waiting for so long, they just wanted to die. It was scary. I thought: ‘If we leave, there is going to be a riot’..”

I bet she’ll be getting a few more dirty looks when the “rabid” fangirls get a hold of this!

she should have stuck with her initial feeling of NOT doing the film

I find this funny! lol and yeah some fans are over the top.

I bet shes happy that she did the film, it was a good movie. N there is no such thing as the “perfect man”…not even Edward was perfect, but there are good men out there. So keep the dream alive =P

Kristen can act in what she wants to act and what she doesnt. It’s a simple, basic fact. She isn’t obliged to act in something she doesn’t want to act in. So she choose to, whats the problem? I’m not jealous, even though I do like Robert Pattinson. She auditioned and got the part.

thats ok she dosn’t really even look the part

Robert’s eyes r so adorable. ALL of d characters fitted their roles. TWILIGHT IS GREAT! P.S:bella was wel played by Kristen. Robert, ROCK ON!

Notice that the pro-twilighters are all the silly “11-year-olds” (or close) that she was speaking of~

I wish she wouldn’t have done it. I always thought she was an excellent actor until she joined the bandwagon of $h!t.

ashley March 25, 2009 at 6:15 pm

OH PLEASE. All of you wo think Kristen didn’t do a good job in Twilight are stuck up snobs who are just jealous because she was with rob, WHOM 7/8 of you didn’t knowhe existed until Twilight. Fake fans. The rest of the world could give a rat’s a** about what you think just because your jealous.

Gah. I’m sick of arguing.

I loved Twilight!!! I love Rob!!! I was so staoked to find out he was chosen to play Edward!!! I thought he was dreamy in Harry Potter and bummed when Cedric was killed, even though that I knew it would happen, yes, I’ve read all Harry Potter Books!!! My friend wanted someone else to play Edward and she showed me his, the other dude’s pic, thinking I would side with her, no such luck. I was like, are you kidding me? Seriously? Well, I’m just glad that he was chosen to play the part!!! Kudos to him and Kristen!!! Long live Twilight!!! I can’t wait to see New Moon!!!

‘11 years olds’?
I actually find that a bit rude, dont you think?
I know people that are of 16 yrs and love twilight
almost as much as I do, and FYI,
Im 13.

i’m 17 years old and i’m a fan of the books and i really enjoyed the film…
i’ve admired kristen since the film “into the wild” and i think every film shes featured in has been a good one.
if you consider it, kristen is a very talented actress, not only wanting to work in these great movies but also getting the part…and at the ages of 14 -18…its very impressive.
i dont think kristen is a bitch..i just think shes very….shy and awkward in herself…and i think she feels very uneasy and out of place when shes in those sort of situation, because, if you look at her, shes not exactly the “typical starlet”- shes quite scrawny and boyish but beautiful. You can tell by the way she holds herself that shes not an actress because she wants to be famous and enjoys the limelight but because she enjoys acting and sees it as a job not a luxury.
the comment i’ve read saying “she never smiles”- if you’ve seen backstage footage or interviews when shes not all alone, she smiles alot and seems like a very nice girl…even dancing and goofy around in the background…like a normal teenager.
think about it, at your age, would you be smiling with a load of scary, indimidating people taking pictures and screaming your name and asking you questions alll at the same time? she was probably so confused and overwhelmed that she didn’t know what to do with her face. i know i would certainly be the same.
Oh and the comments on her smoking and smoking weed- if she wasn’t an actress, would you really care what she did? i smoke cigerettes and i’ve dabled in weed too…its a normal teenage thing to do…try new things, experiment. i’m sick of all these people giving young actors and actress shit because they are acting like teenage-what are they not allowed to make mistakes? try new things? make their own decisions or choices? So what if she likes to smoke, so does half the world…and theres nothing wrong with a little weed here and there. Young fans would be trying that stuff soon enough, even if actors/actresses were doing it too.
i’m just sick of all this “role model!” being a “bad example” shit! If someone started smoking because an actress or actor they liked smoked, personally, i dont think that person deserves to live- if they are that sad that they have to copy someone else, rather than be thereselves. :)

thank you and goodnight! :)

seriously im glad she did the movie she’s a great actress and she’s right there are alot of rabid girls out there who are way too intrested in robert p.

Okay… The part wasn’t right for her. Although she looks just like her and know other actress could, she was totally unreal and un enthusiastic. She does a great job in advensureland and The Messangers, but not Twilight. Mostly, I think it’s because she really doesn’t want the part and she did it for money. She even said she hates all her fans and how they act, and she knew that she would have a lot. She also said Bella wasn’t a very good person.
I don’t blame her, either, it’s her opinion… either way she must’ve liked the part because she’s continuing ‘New Moon’ the movie.
I just wish she would act better in this movies like she does in the others. I’m a big fan, and love both Edward and Jacob, and the people that play them. they also look a lot like their characters. But Kristen… she doesn’t act as good as the others. Alice may have a small part, but she’s the best.
I think she acted like that mostly because Bella doesn’t act happy and and like Alice, she keeps it simple with a deep voice. If that was her opinion and thought of Bella, then that is obviously why she didn’t act good.
All in all, I’m glad she decided to continue, I like her as an actress and she looks JUST like Bella.
I suggest reading all the books if you haven’t, they get better… New moon is the best in my opinion, then Twilight, Breaking Dawn and then Eclipse. Their all my favorite books so far.
Not just because everyone loves it. Because I do. Because there exiting. Because it’s the only book I’ll read a whole day straight in, four days straight. Because just because Edward and Bella love eachother for no reason expet looks and smells, I still like their personalities and the books’ plots. Because I’m 10 and I like feeling older.
I cannot wait until New Moon comes out, and in DVD. I’m expecting to buy it on DVD, even though I haven’t bought twilight because I can watch it on youtube…
