Keira Knightley, 23, has done quite a few movies since her breakthrough role in the 2002 movie Bend It Like Beckham and it seems that she keeps favoring a certain type of flicks. Period pieces.
This time the movie is The Beautiful and the Damned which was announced last year but then put on hold when the director dropped out.
Knightley plays Zelda Sayre, the wife of F. Scott Fitzgerald, and with a new director at the helm, will start filming in March.
This time, Knightley is going back to the 1920’s when Fitzgerald wrote some of his greatest novels including This Side of Paradise and The Great Gatsby.
The couple were seen as the “perfect high society couple” but behind the scenes, Sayre’s behavior and schizophrenia led Scott Fitzgerald into fits of jealousy and alcoholism.
No word on who will play Fitzgerald in the movie.
The flick will head to theaters sometime in 2010.
