Hunter Parrish: “Weeds” Star Hits Broadway

Hunter Parrish, 21, plays Mary-Louise Parker’s son on Showtime’s Weeds and just like a good mother, she was there to cheer on her “son” when he took the stage in his latest role on Broadway.

Parrish plays the rebel Melchior, a charmer who questions authority and deals with his own sexuality in 1891 Germany in Spring Awakening and will play the part until March.

During his time off, Parker and her two kids (son William, 4, and daughter Ash, 2) make Parrish a part of their family.

“We’re going apple-picking. How great is that?” says Parrish. “I just love that family.”

It appears the feeling is mutual.

“Hunter is friendly and positive, Hunter wants harmony,” Parker says. “I want my son to be like Hunter. He’s just good, and it’s not fake or artificial.

He’s a part of my life. We text each other. He spent Thanksgiving at my house, he comes every year. My daughter goes to the set, and the first thing she says on set is ‘Hunter.’ She’s looking for Hunter.”

I’m just glad they didn’t reveal a more than friendly relationship because dating and playing mother and son on TV seems a little too weird for my taste.
