Heroes star Hayden Panettiere took time out of her busy schedule to spread some holiday cheer for some girls who could really use it.
The 19-year-old teamed up with the company Candie’s (she’s a spokesmodel for them) on Saturday to provide a shopping spree at Kohl’s for five girls who are currently patients at the Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles.
The girls were recovering from aneurysms, strokes, paralysis of the nerves and spine and battling sickle cell anemia.
The group was given $500 to get a brand new look just in time for the holidays. Panettiere tried to provide fashion advice but it doesn’t sound like it was needed.
“Not many of them listened to me!” she admitted.
These days, Panettiere is hearing advice of her own she probably doesn’t want to listen to. Producers on her show Heroes find a sport she enjoys, rock climbing, a bit too dangerous.
A source said, “The bosses told Hayden they love her keeping fit but don’t want her rock climbing because it’s too dangerous. Hayden was really cross and told them it’s not like climbing real rocks because there are pads at the bottom to soften falls.”
It does seem a little silly that the kick-butt actress who does loads of stunts for her show can’t enjoy a little indoor rock climbing. Next thing you know, she won’t be allowed to wear high heels for fear of her falling.
