SS: Is this the first album that you have recorded?

Yes, this is the first full album I have recorded. It has been such
an incredible experience and I cannot wait to begin my next album!

SS: What artists influence you and your music the most?

Growing up, I always listened to Mariah Carey. Her lyrics and her
vocal ability inspire me everytime I write. Stevie Wonder’s lyrics
are also inspiring to me as well.

SS: If you could perform a duet with any artist from any genre, who would it
be and why?

I would love to perform a duet with Usher Raymond. I love his live
performance and his dancing. A collaboration with him has been a
dream of mine growing up.

SS: Do you like performing in front of an audience or working the recording
studio better?

Performing in front of an audience is why I love music. I began
singing on the stage for Musical Theater and have loved performing
ever since. Live performances allow me to connect with others with my
own lyrics through my own expression. It is a dream come true for me.

SS: If you could tell your fans anything, what would it be?

If I could tell my fans anything, it would be that I hone my craft
everyday in order to express myself and do what I love the most! I
just hope they can enjoy my music just as much as I enjoy creating it.
That is why I do what I do.

SS: What kind of person are you? Do you think every thing out step-by-step,
or are you more spur of the moment?

I am a mixture of both. Every month I set up a step-by-step schedule
to make sure my goals and my schedule are working together
simultaneously. But I love to enjoy times with my family and close
friends. Usually those times happen at the spur of the moment!

SS: Do you support any charities?

Once every month I clean out my closet and give clothing to Children’s
Charities.

SS: What was the last song you listened to on your iPod?

Keri Hilson’s “Knock You Down.”
