Unlike most teenage girls, Emma Roberts doesn’t crush on The Jonas Brothers! “I used to have a crush on Nick, but he’s kind of making his rounds in Hollywood, and I don’t know if I like that,” she says in the April issue of Teen Vogue.
Although Emma jokingly admitted that she was “into” musicians now, she says she won’t be taking calls from any of the Brothers. She said that they were “a little tainted” due to the fact that they have romanced so many other young starlets.
The actress also shared her issue with dating co-stars. “It’s great when you’re shooting,” she admits. “But when it’s a year later and you have to do press and you’re no longer speaking, that can be a bit awkward.”
But the Hotel for Dogs star isn’t giving up hope on a boyfriend.
“I remember being 12 and thinking, I can’t wait until I’m 16, because by then I’m going to have a car, a driver’s license, a really cool boyfriend, and boobs,” she says. “And now I’m 18, and I have none of those things. None! That was my 12-year-old self’s checklist, and nothing has been checked off.”
Emma also chatted about her career, including two new independent projects! “Some people look at me and think, ‘She’s just Julia Roberts’ niece,’ so I wanted to do something smaller and edgier, something that would show I really am an actress,” she says. “I’m not in competition with her. She’s one of the biggest movie stars in the world! I’m just doing what I love to do and having fun with it.”
