Due to her directorial debut ‘Whip It’, Hollywood royalty Drew Barrymore will be hosting a Skate Party in Detroit, where they filmed scenes for the upcoming roller derby film.
The movie, which stars ‘Juno‘ funny girl Ellen Page along with Juliette Lewis, Marcia Gay Harden, and Jimmy Fallon, is set to premiere October 2nd.
34-year-old Barrymore will walk the red carpet and host the skating event Sept. 11 at Bonaventure Skating Center in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
‘Whip It’ tells the story of a young teen aged girl growing up in Bodeen, Texas with an over bearing Pageant mother. Instead of becoming a beauty queen, Bliss (played by Page) gets involved in an Austin Roller Derby league! Check out the trailer below, and don’t forget to meet Miss Barrymore at the roller rink!
